Cathy earned her master's degree from University of Texas at Dallas in the Human Development, Early Childhood Disorders program of the Brain and Behavioral Sciences Department. After serving practicum and internships at the state's early childhood intervention program, the Nexus rehabilitation program for mother's of baby's born with addiction, and Children's Medical Center Dallas with extremely premature infants Cathy then worked in the Low Birth Weight Clinic at Children's Health Hospital for 15 years helping the parents of these medically-fragile babies navigate the many developmental challenges and obstacles faced by them and their children. As a gold-standard administrator of the Bayley Scales of Infant Development, Cathy assisted in gathering important data for the National Institute of Health-Neonatal Network research studies that contributed to procedural standards of care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units nationwide.
In addition to 10 previous years as a Preschool Director in the Plano area, Cathy's post-graduate experience has provided her with valuable insight and experience in consulting families and helping children with disabilities. After becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and starting Help Begins at Home to plan and carry out treatment at in-home settings for children on the Autism Spectrum, Cathy went on to start a treatment center for social development, called Child's Path, and continues to serve her community in behavior treatment.
